ParkSide 23 in Brookfield {Milwaukee}

ParkSide 23 (aka PS23) is a great restaurant and a really nice option to have out here in the suburbs. If you're not familiar, it could be because the restaurant is fairly new (opened late 2010) or because it's tucked away on the little side road (Pilgrim Square Drive) that connects Pilgrim Rd with North Ave.

The first thing I noticed when pulling into ParkSide 23's parking lot was their quarter-acre plot used to raise vegetables in season. There are many ways a restaurant can use local ingredients, but how many restaurants do you know that grow their own?

The use of fresh, local ingredients really shone through in our menu selections. My co-worker selected their Caprese Flatbread, which came topped with fresh mozzarella, oven-dried romas and basil pesto.

I chose Roasted Beets, which consisted of scarlet and gold beets, Wisconsin goat cheese, maple-glazed walnuts and apple cider vinaigrette. We really liked both items that we ordered!

ParkSide 23 has a very nice patio, and it was the perfect place to enjoy a Crispin cider after work on Friday. I live and work in Menomonee Falls, which has very limited options, so I really appreciate an option like PS23 being fairly close.
