Feasting for Fido at the Wisconsin Humane Society

I really enjoyed attending Feasting for Fido last week with my friends Jen and Lisa. I jumped at the chance to sample Milwaukee restaurants while supporting the Wisconsin Humane Society at the same time.

Almost immediately after arriving we found Le Rêve, where I sampled a fresh fruit tart. I was worried these might not be around long, so I started with dessert. I love Le Rêve and would definitely recommend dining there the next time you're in Tosa.

Another favorite restaurant of mine is Café Manna, and luckily they were serving my favorite Jamaican Jerk lentil burger along with limonade, which is a lemonade-style drink made with
fresh limes, kale, swiss chard, pear, agave nectar and water.

They also served delicious cinnamon sugar treats in the shape of bones that they assured everyone were human treats :) I couldn't resist dessert from Honeypie as well. Their raspberry-peach bars were fantastic!

My favorite salad of the evening, and one that I want to recreate soon, was a watermelon, strawberry and feta salad from Meritage.

I loved the presentation of the chilled pea soup from Ristorante Bartolotta. They had an ice block with indentations for each small container, along with dog toys frozen into the block of ice.

Chris and I adopted two cats from the Wisconsin Humane Society, one from the Milwaukee campus, and one from the Ozaukee campus. If you're looking to add a pet to your family, I highly recommend checking out either branch. We are beyond happy with the adoption choices we made.
